BACA Partners with Avena to Securely and Sustainably Repurpose Branded Workwear

For more than 35 years, BACA Workwear & Safety has supplied branded workwear and uniforms to businesses across the UK. Our job has always been to get the right garments to the right people. But we've increasingly asked ourselves a bigger question: what happens to that workwear once it reaches the end of its life?

That's why we're proud to announce our partnership with Avena, giving our customers access to Avena's SecureBrand® solution for the secure and sustainable disposal of branded textiles.

The problem with throwing away branded workwear

When a uniform carries your logo, it carries your reputation too. Branded garments that are binned, donated or resold without care can end up in the wrong hands, leading to unauthorised use of company logos, brand misuse, impersonation and reputational damage.

Landfill isn't a good answer either. It protects nobody's brand and it's bad for the planet. Our customers needed an option that was both secure and sustainable, and we needed a specialist partner to deliver it.

How SecureBrand® works

Through our partnership with Avena, end-of-life branded garments are:

• Collected securely by security-vetted operatives
• Transported to an Avena secure facility
• Destroyed beyond recognition, so logos and branding can't be reused
• Repurposed and remanufactured into new items wherever possible

Every garment is diverted from landfill. Because branded items never re-enter the secondary market, our customers can be confident their brand, reputation and intellectual property stay protected.

The results so far

Since launching the partnership, we've onboarded multiple customers onto SecureBrand®. Together, we've diverted over 4,000kg of branded textiles from landfill, an estimated 2,441kg CO₂e saving.
